Playstation Now Open Beta Launched

Sony’s video game rental service that had been unveiled earlier this year, has finally entered open beta. The service allows PlayStation 4 users to pick and choose from a variety of games (currently there are 122 games available for rental.) Rental prices vary from game and rental length. The service does not feature any physical or digital copies and is based purely on a streaming service.

At the moment the beta only features PlayStation 3 titles, the service was also intended to include PlayStation and PlayStation 2 titles but Sony has yet to state if they will still have a spot in the service. At the moment the service is only available on PlayStation 4, however Sony plans to extend the service to PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation TV.

Users have expresses their concern regarding pricing of the games, as a majority of available rental games are older and are possible to purchase for less than the cost of rental.
