Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse Out Now

Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, a remastered classic that has been highly requested by fans for over a decade is out now.

Originally released exclusively in Japan on Nintendo Wii in 2008, the game is now available on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.

The game takes place ten years after the mysterious disappearance of five girls at a moonlight festival on Rogetsu Isle, an island in southern Japan. With only the faint remembrance of a single melody and a seemingly possessed masked woman dancing in the moonlight, the remaining three girls head back to the island to solve the mystery of their friends’ deaths and unlock the memories left behind.

In true Project Zero fashion, you’ll rely on the moonlight and flashlight to search for clues while you fend off evil spirits with your Camera Obscura, a well-known tool in the franchise. You can damage ghosts by taking their picture, but they have to be closer to have a better effect.

The remastered game features enhanced graphics, including improved rendering of shadows and light, and an all-new Photo Mode. The game also includes new and altered costumes, as well as in-game movies and character models that have been brushed up to deliver a more immersive experience.

For those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, they will receive the “Rogetsu Isle Dinner Party Costume Set” and a digital art book that includes the original soundtrack. There is also a Digital Deluxe Upgrade Pack available for those who want the additional content but already own the base game.

Players who purchase the game by March 22nd, 2023, will receive the early purchase bonus: Ruka Exclusive Costume “Marie Rose Outfit” from the Dead or Alive series. Fans who have already played PROJECT ZERO: Maiden of Black Water and have saved data on their device can also receive a special save bonus costume, the “Camera Obscura Hat.”

Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is out now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.
