Pokemon Candy Types and How to Get Them

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee Guide

Candy is the newest mechanic found in Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu, and can be used for a variety of different ways to beef up your team. In this guide, we’ll talk about what candies can be found, and how they strengthen the Pokemon that consumes it.

Candy Types

In Let’s Go, there are three different types of candies that can be found throughout the play, each offering a different boost.

Species-Candy

This candy comes straight from Pokemon Go, and are a bit more rare than the standard candy types. Only the Pokemon that the candy is named after can eat these, but it will increase every single stat +1.

Rare Candy

The age-old candy for the series. Feeding this candy to a Pokemon will increase their level by one.

Stats Candy

These candy can be consumed by any Pokemon, and are made with one specific stat in mind. Feeding a Pokemon these candies will improve the stat that they are named after.

How to Find Candy

The best way to get tons of Candy is by catching Pokemon out in the wild. You can catch them willy-nilly, or rack up a Catch Combo (read more about those here) to get much better candies as your combo gets higher.

After catching Pokemon, you can also transfer them from your Pokemon Box to Professor Oak to gain even more candies.

Within Stat Candies, there are a few more subcategories as well.

Regular Candy

Can be given to any Pokemon, though it takes more and more to increase a stat based on the Pokemon’s current stats and level.

L Candy

Can be given to Pokemon Lvl.30 and up.

XL Candy

Can be given to Pokemon Lvl.60 and up.
