ADATA have been in the ram game for sometime and have brought out a range of different sticks for a variety of budgets, rigs and needs. The Adata XPG Dazzle 16GB DDR4-2400 dual channel ram kits are evenly priced on the market for performance vs cost. Gamers who are venturing away from DDR3 territory into DDR4 could quite easily consider these as potential upgrades for their new build.
First up packaging, usually the XPG Dazzle 16GB DDR4 ram would come in some shiny packaging with your usual specifications on the box. As we were sent just the sticks, the did not come in anything fancy but luckily it’s not the box that we are testing. The size and design have changed slightly from their other products which took up more room with its triangular shape, opting for a similar design but taking away the peak in the middle has made it take up less room.
We were supplied with two sticks of AX4U2400W8G16-BRD 8GB ADATA DDR4 ram which has timings of 16-16-16. It is worth mentioning that the AX4U2400W8G16-DRD are the exact same sticks of ram but just come in a pair. We received a pair of sticks but the model numbers meant for retail they were for individual packaging. This would not affect your build if you had the same as us and decided to get two separate sticks as opposed to the dual kit. Of course there are arguments out there it is better to pairs but that decision is ultimately up to you.
XPG Dazzle as the name suggests is LED lit, allowing you to showcase the ram if you have a windowed PC case. Something that was popular way back when but is slowly making another comeback with more towers being built again with windows on the side to show off your great cable management abilities. It is worth noting though unlike a lot of gaming peripherals, the Dazzle ram sticks only illuminate in one colour, red coming on and off with a breathing pattern.
