Last year, it was announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, the third high definition compilation of the Kingdom Hearts series would be arriving for the PlayStation 4, following Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix which were released for the PlayStation 3 in September 2013 and October 2014 respectively. In order to bring the entire series together on one console, Square Enix have today announced that a compilation of 1.5 and 2.5 will be arriving on PlayStation 4 next year, under the name of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix.
It is not currently known how the games will be improved or remastered on their transition to Sony’s current generation console. Given the proven track record of Square Enix when it comes to their high definition re-releases, it is likely that this six game compilation will be an essential purchase for any fans of the RPG genre. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix will be released on PlayStation 4 by Disney Interactive Studios and Square Enix on March 31st 2017.
