Mode7 Games, the guys behind the Frozen Synapse series have today revealed via Twitter they’ll be publishing a game called Tokyo 42. In development by Smac Games, they claim it’s the ‘lovechild of Syndicate and GTA 1’, although the bright and bold colour palette is straight out of the streets of Balamory.
“Set in a future Tokyo, the game will see you become an assassin and uncover a dark conspiracy that will affect everyone.”
A fully open world is confirmed for single player alongside a competitive multiplayer mode, with various weapons and tools at your disposal to conduct all your assassin-y needs. Multiplayer seems to take a leaf out of Assassin’s Creed’s book, with Mode7 confirming on Twitter that the idea is to blend into the crowd in hyper detailed little arenas.
Currently the only release date is a vague 2017 and the confirmed platforms are nonexistant, but it’s expected to be on PC.
