Today, Ubisoft and Obsidian Entertainment have announced that South Park: The Stick of Truth will be available on March 7th for those in the UK. They also revealed the above launch trailer, to give fans a glimpse of what’s to come. The announcement is unusually short notice considering the game came out today in the US, but that said, this is probably one of the more unusual games you’ll see this year.
Designed by the TV series’ creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, The Stick of Truth is the definitive South Park gaming experience, complete with underpants gnomes, hippies, and of course, plenty of flatulence. In the game, you must try discover the legendary Stick of Truth to earn your place amongst Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, as their new best friend. Sounds simple, but it’s sure to be anything but a straight forward journey.
Unsurprisingly, the launch of The Stick of Truth has not been an easy ride, either. In a recent post on Reddit from a producer of the game, it was revealed that no less than 5 versions of the game exist to coincide with individual country rating systems. The Stick of Truth has been censored in various ways to get through the system, though a full uncensored version is available to those in the US, and to PC users.
South Park: The Stick of Truth will be available this week worldwide, on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
