This is our unofficial guide for the first chapter of Episode 1 in Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. The Secret Is In The Stars is consisted of four levels filled with hidden Gems, Bonus Challenges and Pixel Toad pictures.

1-1: Plucky Pass Beginnings

Gem 1: Turn the camera to the right to see the first gem up a slope inside the nearby column.

Gem 2: Go up the ladder to find a patch of grass. Pull them up to find a turnip. Throw this toward the POW Brick to clear the passage to the second gem.

Gem 3: Approach the Blue Toad on the upper level of the stage to receive the third gem.

Bonus Challenge: Find the Pickaxe under one of the plants on the upper level of the stage. Use it to break through a wall of bricks to find a Golden Mushroom.

Pixel Toad: Rotate the stage to find the Pixel Toad on the wall next to the Golden Mushroom.

1-2: Walleye Tumble Temple

Gem 1: After heading into the water, pull a turnip out of one of the grass patches. Throw it at the statue and travel up the tunnel to the surface. Cross the nearest bridge to collect the first gem.

Gem 2: Head through the gap in the spinning wheel and up the stairs. Wait for the wheel to drop you into a new area. Pull up the nearest grass patch to find the second gem.

Gem 3: At the top floor of the level, grab the third gem from an outstretched platform.

Bonus Challenge: Do not walk across the bridge to complete this bonus challenge by walking into the pool at the start of the stage.

Pixel Toad: Rotate the level to see the torchlit tunnels, and wait for the rightmost moving wheel to have a vertical gap to locate the Pixel Toad.

1-3: Touchstone Trouble

Gem 1: Spin the camera around whist tapping the platforms to find the first gem inside a small inlet.

Gem 2: Lower the blue area and cross over to it. Touch the pink area and cross back over, and then touch the blue platform again to locate the second gem.

Gem 3: The third gem is behind a locked door below the pink platform. The key can be plucked from a grass patch on the blue platform, which is found at the top of the stage.

Bonus Challenge: Tap the pink platform and walk over to it. Next, tap the blue platform and walk over to it. Finally, tap the pink platform for the second time to complete the Bonus Challenge.

Pixel Toad: Press the right analog stick to the northwest to find the Pixel Toad on the side of a yellow area.

1-4: Mushroom Mesa

Gem 1: Head into one of the tunnels at the start of the stage to find the first gem.

Gem 2: Defeat the two Shy Guys on the second level to locate the second gem.

Gem 3: Climb down a few ladders and tap several platforms to open a pathway to a room with a third gem.

Bonus Challenge: Defeat all the enemies in the level using the Turnips from grass patches to complete the Bonus Challenge.

Pixel Toad: This Pixel Toad is behind a tower of coins near the location of the first gem.
