VGU Talks – Thoughts On The Final Fantasy VII Remake
With the Playstation Experience we got to see more content from the remake of Final Fantasy VII. Although it is not my favourite game in the franchise, I am incredibly impressed with how everything looks thus far.
First off Midgar looks amazing and there is promise of more areas of this city to explore in the release. Barrett’s new design is also brilliant combining elements of Blade and Mr.T to finally make him more of a badass rather than a chubby mercenary. The change from the ATB system to a more action orientated combat system is also great to see as you can potentially have more control over each character in your party and see all of their unique moves being performed.
One of the biggest concerns from fans however has been involving the episodic release. The game will be split into parts and then those parts will be released individually. This is to make sure that the game does not miss out on any of the content and the game is indeed made bigger and better than ever before. I personally love this idea as it reminds me of changing discs in the old school PS1 era.
