VGU Talks – Persona 5’s Japanese Release Date

After watching the Persona 5 livestream on Twitch, Rob & I decided to take some time out afterwards to discuss some thoughts about the trailer that was shown as well as our thoughts on the Japanese release date.

We now understand that Persona 5 will be on show at E3 later this year, meaning that a western release date won’t be too far away. But will it release 15 days before Final Fantasy XV? We doubt it. The reason behind this is due to Square’s impact on the world market and having a world-wide release of their title coming out on September 30th. It would make more sense if Atlus and SEGA were to localise and release the game in the west in mid to late October or early November. That way you can tackle the pre-Christmas audience and give time for FFXV to settle down post launch.

Of course this is our speculation and we are looking forward to seeing more from Atlus and Persona 5 closer to E3. What are your thoughts on the trailer and Japanese release? Let us know in the comments.
