So far the Fallout Lootcrate has been a joy to open every couple months to see what if going to be inside. The first Fallout Crate was definitely the strongest one but crate number #2 was still up there for some decent gaming merchandise and official swag. If you’ve not read the previous reviews then be sure to check them out before this one. Don’t worry it’ll still be here, just like Dog Meat.

The third box which arrived at the end of April was smaller again, making me wonder if by the last crate the box will be tiny just for the last piece of the Power Armour set. Size aside, it’s impressive how much LootCrate have perfected the art of packing boxes in a way that everything fits.

This month’s crate theme is Nuka-World and as something that is a personal favourite, it was exciting to dive into the box.

Fallout Crate Pricing

If you’ve read the previous reviews you’ll have a good idea of the costs but if not, they work on a the more you buy in bulk the more you’ll save. Loot Crate will ship to nearly any country in the world so international Fallout fans will be happy. Here’s a breakdown of the cost for the top three currencies.

  • 1 month – $34.99 / £39.00 / €46.00
  • 3 months – $33.99 / £39.00 / €45.00
  • 6 Months – $32.99 / £38.00 / €44.00

The 6 month, of course, is still the best option as you’ll save $2 a month, or $12 over the 6 month period. That is the max needed to collect all the Fallout related boxes as there are 6 spanned over 2 month periods.

It’s still worth mentioning that the UK does not seem to have the same discount options as the over countries. Month 1 and month 3 options cost the same, so there’s very little to push UK gamers to sign up for the 3 months. We’ve not heard back from Loot Crate yet if this is intentional or a technical error.

What's inside the third Fallout Crate from April 2018

The first box and second box are bigger than the third box from Loot Crate but themed as Nuka World there’s a number of different types of merchandise plus one extra item than from the previous box. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Nuka-World Postcard T-shirt
  • Fallout 4 Piper Figure
  • Power Armour Build-A-Figure Legs
  • Nuka-Cola Can Koozie Set
  • Nuka-World Baseball Cap
  • Nuka-Cola Fridge Magnet
  • Fallout Nuka-World Party Boy Pin

Nuka-World Postcard T-shirt

Something I am always in need more of is a gaming t-shirt and more so when it is based on Nuka World. The shirt has a nice weathered effect on it based on the theme parks postcard image of the front entrance. On the back is the words “Enjoy the Ride”.

This has been the best clothing article in terms of design as the effect matches the overall Fallout world aesthetic and just works.

Fallout 4 Piper Figure

In the Nuka World crate, you’ll get a Piper Wright figure who runs the paper at Diamond City. She comes with the famous Nuka-Cola blaster but in all honesty, this was the poorest looking figurine so far.

The overall quality of the figure was good like the last two but in terms of likeness, it falls short of the face just looking a bit strange. It is understandable that the Super Mutant and Android probably has a little more give with them as they are humanoid but not human, so their flaws are easier to hide.

Even so, the others did look a lot of closer to their full-size counterparts, here’s an example by putting the in-game Piper next to the statue version and you can decide. Building the figure was simple just three different bits but the guns are not interchangeable as the Nuka-Cola blaster attaches to her back.

Power Armour Build-A-Figure Legs

Every month comes another part of the Power Armour to collect which allows you at the end of the crate cycle to have your final figurine. The piece of body part this month is the legs for the Power Armour.

It’s nice for the armour to be finally taking shape and like the other parts, the detail and quality are very good when it’s just a rusty metal look. It’s nice to see that even on the back of the legs they’ve taken the time to detail out the softer areas of the armour which you’d need otherwise your legs would be solid.

Still can’t wait for Dog Meat to complete the set…

Nuka-Cola Can Koozie Set

If you’re like me and never heard of the word Koozie before, then you’d be interested to know that these originated from Australia and are designed to keep your beverage cooler for longer by insulated the can from the heat, keeping the coldness.

In this crate, you’ll get two each with a different design; the first has the standard Nuka-Cola logo on a brownish background, while the second is the special Nuka-Cola Quantum version over the trademark bluish colour that is associated with the radioactive drink.

They look good and will keep your drink cool.

Nuka-World Baseball Cap

Next up is a Nuka-World baseball cap that has the words embossed on the front in a red stitching. It’s a one size fits all cap with the back designed as a snap-back making it as universal as possible like most items that come with the crates.

On the back of the cap, you’ll also find the same wording on the back of the t-shirt “Enjoy the Ride” which is a nice tie-in and consistency. Being a dark blue colour, the lettering really pops off the cap and makes it much more versatile to be able to wear with other items of clothing.

I found that the stitching was not the greatest in places as you can see from the photos but with the Nuka-World cap and t-shirt, you’ll still be ready to ride the monorail to the theme park in style.

Nuka-Cola Fridge Magnet

Second from last is a small little fridge magnet which has the normal Nuka World logo on it. It measures about 4 inches across and had a magnetic back so you can attach it to your fridge filled with the cold beverage.

It’s made from rubber so should be quite durable and is nicely detailed with colouring that makes it stand out. Not much to be said about a magnet other than it is a nice little gift.

Fallout Nuka-World Party Boy Pin

This month’s pin does not focus on the main S.P.E.C.I.A.L attributes but an in-game bonus that allows you to drink as much alcohol as you want without getting an addiction. The Fallout Party-Boy pin this time around like before is the standard gold variant which was a little disappointing! Not having much luck.

Needing to upgrade my SPECIAL stats aside, the pin is once again nicely constructed and would look good in either the black or gold version.

No Nuka-World Bomb USB Hub?

Something that did not arrive with my Fallout Crate this month but is included in the other crates was a small Nuka-Cola bomb that doubles as a USB hub for your PC. It was a shame to not receive the hub as it’s probably the best item out of all the range this month.

Not having the “Nuka-Hub” aside, I still really enjoyed this crate but it would have been the icing on the cake. As it is a pre-order bonus it makes sense why it was not included but as the only crate so far with a bonus, it seems a little odd to make it an exclusive for some.

In the end, this was still a great crate as for a fan or Nuka-World it has some cool stuff in it but I don’t think the items all together add up to be worth as much as the previous two crates. This is mainly down to the fact with the Koozie’s, Pin and magnet not being expensive items, but it was worth it for the brilliant t-shirt and matching baseball cap.

Shame there's no Nuka-hub for everyone and the overall item worth was lower this month but for Nuka-World fans this is still a crate you'll want to definitely have.
