Everyone’s eyes may be on the Nintendo Switch but the Wii U has given us some fantastic titles this year that will make some awesmoe Christmas gifts this holiday.
Pokken Tournament
Nobody could have believed that a Tekken x Pokémon crossover would ever happen but here it is. With an interesting take on the fighting game genre, its own controller and a story mode to boot, this is a game that Pokémon fans should definitely consider picking up. Being honest; who wouldn’t want to see a Pikachu Stone Cold Stunner a Mewtwo?
Star Fox Zero
The return of Fox McCloud and friends is a welcomed one. With more ships, flight modes and a bit more story floating around this is perhaps the best imagining of the Star Fox series yet. The controls take a bit of getting used to but after you settle in, you’ll be lost in your adventure to save the galaxy.
Nintendo, £24.95
Paper Mario Colour Splash
It may not be the Mario RPG we wanted but it makes up for it with tons of charm, genuine humour and third wall breaking references. Long-time Mario fans should give this game a chance along with the doubting RPG players. Trust us, you will have a smile on your face throughout your playthrough this holiday season.
Nintendo, £32
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
It may not have come out this year but the Smash Bros. series is always a sure-fire way to provide hectic and hilarious multiplayer fun any time of the year. Every bit of DLC has now also been released for the game so you can pick up Cloud Strife, Bayonetta, Ryu and many more additions as you as you pick up the game. Remember; you can pick up a Nintendo GameCube controller adapter as well for that authentic Smash Bros. experience!
Make sure you pick some of these games up if you can; they will certainly brighten up your Christmas this year. However, if you still need to do more shopping, head back to our Holiday Gift Guide 2016 Hub for other great gaming gift ideas.
