Games Workshop and Creative Aseembly have revealed more details into their upcoming 3rd title in the Total War: Warhammer series. Not only was there a beautiful trailer of the forces of Kislev battling the Chaos army of Khorne, but also a short interview with Warhammer Studio Designer and Conceptualiser, Mark Bedford, and Old World Project Lead, Andy Hoare. Exciting content to wet our blood thirsty appetite.

So what do we know so far?

Since it’s first teasers, Total War: Warhammer III was going to include the forces of Chaos. The trailer now cements that. It also presents Ice Queen of Kislev, who commands the like of winged(helm) lancers and polar bear riders. The Dark Gods of Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch, and Khorne were also depicted with the forces of the latter engaged in battle in the cinematic. Of those forces, brutal Skullcrusher cavalry, menacing Bloodletter daemons, and a terrifying Bloodthirster daemon ripped through the Kislev army. This is before the Ice Queen faces off against the Bloodthirster in all her frozen glory.

At the end of the trailer, but also talked about in the interview, the forces of Cathay were featured. Also called The Dragon Empire of Cathay, were located in the far East of the Old World. Known for great golden pagodas, jade cities, and incredible luxuries such as spices, textiles, metals, and craftsmanship. Among the decadence, mystical beings such as stone dog guardians, serpentine dragons, kirin, and jade lions bless the Empire. A magnificent territory to enrich the lore of the land and wonderful prospects of units to command in game.

The final details revealed were that it will be available later this year, 2021. And, it is available for pre-order on the Steam and Epic Games stores, with more details to be revealed in due time.
