For many years, video game players all over the world have received exclusive information about upcoming games for Nintendo consoles via their Nintendo Direct presentations. The latest of these live streamed events has now arrived, bringing with it a vast catalogue of news about previously announced titles, as well as a handful of all new games for the Nintendo Switch family of systems.
To start things off with a bang, the fan favourite third person shooter Overwatch is at last making it’s way onto Nintendo Switch. The game will run at a very respectable 30fps, and will arrive worldwide on October 15 2019.
After the relative success from Kirby Star Allies, Nintendo fans will be delighted to learn that Super Kirby Clash, an all new free to start fighting game starring the pink mascot will be available later today.
Although they are best known for developing the Pokemon series, Game Freak are no strangers to developing other software. Their newest RPG, Little Town Story, is set to offer a fresh experience set in a village where every resident can offer a helping hand to defend it from monsters.
It was announced at E3 that Banjo and Kazooie would be coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and during the Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that the dynamic duo will be available for Fighters Pass owners and individual purchase later today.
On a further note, it was announced that the next challenger will be Terry from the Fatal Fury series.
With so many ports of Wii U titles coming to Switch, it is pleasing to see that Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE has made the cut. The port will include all new dungeons, playable characters and an all new performed by the game’s cast. Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore will arrive on Nintendo Switch on January 17th 2020.
During the latest Direct, the Galar region has been announced to be the home to all new mechanics for the Pokemon series, such as cooking curries together with various ingredients found around the region and building a camp site for your Pokemon to explore.
The latest entries in the Pokemon RPG series are still in course to be released in November.
When it was first launched last year, Nintendo Switch Online provided a small library of NES classics to play as long as you are a subscriber. From September 6th, it is now possible to play SNES games such as Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World and The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past.
The final announcement to be made during the Nintendo Direct was that a remastered version of the original Xenoblade Chronicles will be coming out next year. The graphics have been upgraded to match the recently released sequel, and content cut in the original release will be included in the game.
