There’s a lot of things us muggles have been looking forward to with the upcoming release of Hogwarts Legacy. As our letters will be coming soon and ready for us to take our own adventure into the Wizarding World we wanted to outline a few things we are most keen to see and do in the world of Harry Potter.
The Room of Requirement
This room of Hogwarts will need little intro, as it is featured pretty heavily in the movies and books but it is also the main hub for the player inside the school for Hogwarts Legacy.
It’s the home base where you’ll be able to brew potions, look after your magical creatures, upgrade your gear and much more.
We also like the fact you’ll be able to customise the look of the room, adding new items such as chairs, foliage, china on the walls and more.
Choosing which side you are on
Now it is likely most players are going to side with the good wizards on their first play through but being able to learn the unforgivable curses does mean that you can go through your adventure in Hogwarts Legacy as a death-eater if you really wanted.
You could very well be the first He Who Must Not Be Named before the original was even born. The choice of morality within the world is something we look forward to seeing and how you can make those choices when speaking to NPCs and other places.
Become the best Magical Beast tamer
Channel your inner Newt and rescue magical beasts that need your help as your explore the world around you. When you have them, they’ll be waiting for you inside the Room of Requirement where you can set up their housing, play with them and feed them,
By doing all these things, they’ll learn to trust you and will in turn allow you some of their magical materials such as fur, so that you can use these items when brewing potions or upgrading your gear.
The play through and trailers so far have only showcased a handful of creatures to find, but we are hoping there’s plenty more so you can set up your own magical zoo.
Customising your character
A lot of us have waited many years to get our letter into Hogwarts, so it is no surprise a lot of players are going to want to put themselves into the game.
This is likely why Avalanche has made sure that the creator for your character is looking pretty great and will offer a range of different options around all aspects of making a character.
There’ll be plenty of wardrobe accessories to get after you start the game as well so you can continue to change the way your characters looks post-start.
Attending classes and learning spells
As we will be entering the school as a fifth year, there’s going to be a lot of catching up to do when it comes to learning how to be a witch or wizard.
This is why, the game centres partly around attending classes to learn how to perform spells, brew potions and look after plants.
Being able to actually sit in class to learn Accio or learn about how to look after a Mandrake really lets us experience how it would have been for Harry and the gang in the movies.
