DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition Available Now

The revamped re-release of Ninja Theory’s 2013 reboot of Devil May Cry has finally hit stores. This is the latest in a long line of last-gen games getting a Definitive Edition or a Remastered, but with DmC it feels a little bit more justified. The “hardcore stylish crazy action” genre is one of the few genres that benefit from an update. The nuances of the combat, the engine performance, and the difficulty can all be tweaked and bolstered with extra features,

This isn’t the first time that a Devil May Cry game has been re-released a second time with extra features. 2006’s Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition is considered to be one of the best entries in the whole genre. It won’t be the last either, as Devil May Cry 4 is getting a Special Edition at some point too.

NInja Theory has included all the DLC costumes and the extra episode “Vergil’s Downfall” in which we play as Dante’s twin brother after the events of the main game. The game is packed with exactly the sort of thing the fans were begging for since its 2013 release: manual lock-on, 60fps gameplay, Vergil’s Bloody Palace, an increased difficulty in achieving SSS style ranks, and more.
