Watch Dogs is a game that will most likely be bringing gamers to the next-gen. So far the current gen version has failed to interest many people, while the PS4 and Xbox One make the game look stunning. It is unfortunate then that Ubisoft has seen fit to delay the game until Spring next year.
Ubisoft had previously scheduled the title for the next-gen console release dates, which may end up effecting the number of early-adopters. New consoles need a large user-base as soon as possible to help ease that monetary stress of pushing a new console generation. The move to spring 2014 also afects the PS3, Xbox 360 and WiiU versions. Ubisoft gave the reason for the delay in a statement, saying:
“We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.”
A delayed game later on is better than a poor game right now, so I’d rather give them the extra time than play something bad on my brand new console.
