Spicy Horse Games, the folks behind Akaneiro: Demon Hunters and Alice: Otherlands, the later of which was recently successfully funded on KickStarter, have today announced that they will be donating $40,000 worth of Akaneiro: Demon Hunters Karma to Operation Supply Drop. Operation Supply Drop is an immensely awesome charity which sends video game care packages to soldiers deployed into combat zones and those poor folks stuck in military hospitals.
Spicy Horse’s donation will be given out as 400 individual keys worth $100 each, which will be given out to 400 lucky soldiers of Operation Supply Drop’s choosing. American McGee, CEO of Spicy Horse had this to say about the donation:
“For those brave men and women who engage in conflict on behalf of others, without choice or expectation of great reward, I’m happy to provide an opportunity to fight battles of their own choosing while collecting cart-loads of magical loot,”
It’s a pretty cool gesture from Spicy Horse Games, just don’t make the donations too good or you’ll get people signing up to the army for the free games. What do you think of this donation? Act of good will or publicity stunt? Let us know in the comments below.
