Today on American McGee’s Kickstarter page to bring Alice to the big screen, they have announced the director for their short films. Tsui Hark, Chinese writer, director and producer will be at the helm to direct the short-films should the Kickstarter be a success.
Now don’t worry if you haven’t heard that name before. Tsui Hark isn’t some two-bit nobody, but a successful movie director working as far back as the late 1970’s. Having well over 30 movies under his belt, and more than a few for Hong Kong Film Award for Best Director, he knows his stuff.
In a statement on the Kickstarter pages blog he said:
“Alice wanders in the eye-boggling fantasy land. The madness and violence reveal the inner power of a teenager fighting in a hypocrite world of the adult villains. I can already see the impact of the story as a movie. I’d be more than enthusiastic to participate in any effort to make it possible for Alice to come alive on the big screen“
At this moment Alice: Otherlands has secured $95,272 of its $200,000 target with 13 days left. If you want to donate or are just curious then just look here.
