Today is the day that the world is able to get their hands on the long-awaited, The Last of Us. With excellent reviews scores across the board, fans had to wait an extra 5 weeks as the release had been pushed back from May 7th.
Now that the game is released, there seems to be an issue floating around already. Many unfortunate gamers seem to have lost several hours of gameplay because of an autosaving glitch that prevents users from saving the game manually.
The way to spot this glitch it to hop onto the pause menu and check if it says either “X minutes ago” or “Autosaving. Please wait…”
If it is the former, then you have nothing to worry about. However, if the latter appears on your pause screen, and is there for a while, then you’ve unfortunately been hit by the autosaving glitch.
Many fans have already been bombarding the Naughty Dog twitter page, and like the wonderful team they are, they have responded and said that they will have an update to share with us very shortly.
RE #TheLastofUs autosave – we’ll have an update to share with you in a few minutes.

We will keep you updated on what Naughty Dog say, but in the meantime, check out this post on Reddit related to the autosave glitch.
[UPDATE] Just after this post was made, Naughty Dog have released an update on their Twitter. The glitch was an issue on Naughty Dog’s server, but it has now been fixed. The game is available to play now without any issues, in both multiplayer and singleplayer.
We’ve addressed the autosave issue, it was related to servers on our end. Please quit to XMB and restart the game. SP and MP are OK to play!
