This is our unofficial guide for how to successfully complete the Strength Confidant in Persona 5.
This optional side story quest requires you to show them Personas with certain skills to level up your relationship with Caroline and Justine, the attendants of the Velvet Room.
Ability Unlocked: Group Guillotine
Ability Description: Allows you to fuse three Personas together into a brand new Persona.
In order to unlock the Strength Confidant, you will need to visit the Velvet Room after the in-game date of 5/18. After this, you will asked by Igor to take on a non-compulsory test of strength that will be supervised by Caroline and Justine.
Your first task is to show them a Jack Frost obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Mabufu via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Jack Frost via fusion, you will need to have Berith and Apsaras in your Party.
Once you have obtained a Jack Frost, it will learn this required skill at Lv. 12.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
After the dialogue, the Strength Confidant will be unlocked.
No additional Ability is gained at this Rank.
Your second task is to show them a Shiisaa obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Frei via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Shiisaa via fusion, you will need to have Jack Frost and Makami in your Party.
Choose to inherit Frei from Makami, and then allow the Velvet Twins to work their magic.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
Ability Unlocked: Solitary Confinement
Ability Description: Allows you to leave a Persona in the Velvet Room to increase their resistance to certain elemental attacks.
Your third task is to show them a Matador obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Maguru via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Shiisaa via fusion, you will need to have Obariyon and Nekomata in your Party.
Choose to inherit Maguru from Obariyon, and then allow the Velvet Twins to work their magic.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
No additional Ability is gained at this Rank.
Your second task is to show them a Flauros obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Tarukaja via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Flauros via fusion, you will need to have Eligor, Andras and Berith in your Party.
Choose to inherit Tarukaja from Andras, and then allow the Velvet Twins to work their magic.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
Ability Unlocked: Guillotine Booster
Ability Description: Allows you to fuse four Personas together into a brand new Persona.
Your fifth task is to show them a Ame-no-Uzume obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Dodge Psy via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Ame-no-Uzume via fusion, you will need to have Sui-ki and a Lv. 27 Kin-ki in your Party.
Choose to inherit Dodge Psy from Kin-ki, and then allow the Velvet Twins to work their magic.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
No additional Ability is gained at this Rank.
Your sixth task is to show them a Neko Shogun obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Dekaja via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Neko Shogun via fusion, you will need to have Sudama, a Lv. 28 Anzu and Korama in your Party.
Choose to inherit Dekaja from Anzu, and then allow the Velvet Twins to work their magic.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
No additional Ability is gained at this Rank.
Your seventh task is to show them a Lachesis obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Tetraja via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Lachesis via fusion, you will need to have a Lv. 28 Clotho and Regent in your Party.
Choose to inherit Tetraja from Clotho, and then allow the Velvet Twins to work their magic.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
Ability Unlocked: Guillotine Booster
Ability Description: Allows you to fuse four Personas together into a brand new Persona.
Your eighth task is to show them a Hecatoncheir obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Masukunda via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Hecatoncheir via fusion, you will need to have Unicorn and Lilim in your Party.
Choose to inherit Masukunda from Lilim, and then allow the Velvet Twins to work their magic.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
No additional Ability is gained at this Rank.
Your ninth task is to show them a Bugs obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has obtained the skill Samerecarm via Skill Cards, or through inheriting it from it’s fusion parents.
To create a Bugs via fusion, you will need to have Pixie, a Lv. 41 Hariti and Pisaca in your Party.
Choose to inherit Samerecarm from Hariti, and then allow the Velvet Twins to work their magic.
After you have met this requirement, speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room.
Ability Unlocked: Special Treatment
Ability Description: Allows you to create any Persona via fusion, even if it is above your current experience level.
Your tenth task is to show them a Seth obtained via fusion or within a Palace that has the skill High Counter.
For this final fusion, you will need to have perform two fusions and a Skill Card obtained from a Mementos side quest.
For the first fusion, you must fuse Kushinada-Hime and Hecatoncheires to create Horus.
Next, you will need to have this newly obtained Persona, and fuse it together with Anubis, Isis and Thoth to create Seth.
When you have completed the Mementos side quest named The Killer Who Cleans Up Trash, you will obtain a Skill Card containing the skill High Counter.
Use this Skill Card on Seth, and then speak to Caroline on the left hand side of your jail door in the Velvet Room to finish the Strength Confidant.
