Any gamer needs a decent throne to descend upon when they are in the middle of action and time and time again we have spoken about the importance of a decent gaming chair. Over the past couple of years, Nitro has built up their range and their most recent it the Nitro Concepts S300 which is currently being sold via Overclockers.
Similar to the other chairs we have reviewed, the S300 comes packaged as mainly pre-built hence why it comes in a massive box. Inside the box, you’ll find the seat, backrest, chair spokes and pillow. Another box comes inside which contains all the accessories for the chair like the wheels, gas lift, screws and the tools needed to assemble etc. The assembly instructions are clear to follow and the chair should not take longer than 30 off minutes to complete.
Design wise, the Nitro Concepts S300 follows the same style guides as a lot of other chairs, with a high backrest, logo placement on the headrest and a bucket seat style dip into the back of the chair. The S300 comes in a range of colours from black, white, red, green, blue, orange and yellow. Each colour is quite vibrant and shows matched most setups and if you are not the flashy type the black is the most minimal, with the white chair we looked at being the next.
When built, you can see the S300 chair is slightly different to the other gaming chairs reviewed on the site. It’s the first chair I’ve looked at which is not wrapped in PU leather but rather a synthetic cloth. However, this does mean that the chair is not as hardy as the PU counterparts, losing some of the waterproofing but a nicer softer more comfortable finish. Leather or fabric really is down to preference, the latter being soft and warmer while the former is more hardy against liquids and pet hairs.
The seat and backrest are built using cold cured foam which is a common material in most gaming chairs. This foam allows you to buy a chair which you know will be sturdy and keep from losing it shape after use over a couple years, giving more life than your standard office chair. It also makes for a more breathable chair with better support on the parts of you that matter most after a long session.
