Sledgehammer has taken up the mantle of this year’s annual Call of Duty title, and today they have released the trailer showing off the newest iteration of the Zombies game mode. It’s no surprise that the zombies game-type is returning, it has been a long-standing tradition to release some form of a zombie “horde” mode with Call of Duty games. Previous versions of this game-mode have been very action-packed and campy horror but this trailer aims to show off more of a survival horror vibe.

The zombies game-type has been around since World at War, and hasn’t seen much change to the formula since its creation. It would be interesting to see a newer Call of Duty developer take a spin on it like we have never seen before. With Call of Duty making a throwback to it’s roots, it is refreshing to see as much change from the last few entries as possible.
