At one time or another, everyone has dreamed being a hero. Whether you are saving the world from apocalyptic threats, or if you are embarking on a journey to rescue something precious, we have all placed ourselves in the role. Earlier today, SEGA revealed two all-new trailers for Sonic Forces, the latest game in the long-running series platformer franchise. As well as showcasing Modern and Classic Sonic, Sonic Team have implemented the ability to generate your own custom hero to join their mission to save the world.
From what we can see in the initial trailers, there will be an extensive range of customisations that you can make to your hero. These include fur colour, the shape of your head, the clothes that you’re wearing and the abilities that you will be able to use. It is not currently clear if you will be able to use your custom hero in the Modern and Classic stages, or if they will be limited to their own separate modes similar to the Mii levels in New Super Mario Bros U. Whichever scenario turns out to be true, the custom hero mechanic is a breath of fresh air to the Sonic series that SEGA fans will be excited to try out for themselves.
Sonic Forces will be released on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch before the end of 2017.
