The legendary duelist of DEATH Yami Bakura has invaded the awesome mobile card game, Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links! In order to play his game and fight back against this evil menace, we have analysed some of the best decks and have come up with some example decks for you to wield and to help you combat the darkness. Keep in mind however, that the meta-game is changing all the time and a new pack release may cause these decks to move some cards around. Finally, if you can’t get a copy of certain card, you can fill up the slots in your deck with easier to obtain card which do the same sort of job.
Yami Yugi Gravekeeper deck
Skill: Power of Dark
Cost to create: High
Gravekeeper’s Spear Soldier x1
Twister x2
Mirror Wall x2
How better to fight the darkness with more darkness? But as with all dark power, it comes at a cost… This deck is extremely powerful, using the strength of the synergy between the Gravekeeper’s cards in order pick up the key cards you need with Recruiter, stall with Priestess and Enemy Controller and eventually summon Oracle. By doing this, it will most likely win you the game; Oracle’s effect(s) and presence on the board are strong and you have to be prepared to pick the correct effect for the situation at hand.
That being said, the deck has a reliance on the skill “Power of Dark” bringing Yami to the field. If the card is destroyed, this decks power goes down a fair chunk and allows it to be easily ran over by aggressive decks. Also, Divine Wrath will mess up any combo you try to get off but it is not a card often seen played unless as a tech choice.
This deck is VERY expensive to make containing multiple ultra-rare and hard to get/farm super rare cards but the results are a consistent deck that can easily make you a King of Games.
Mai Valentine Harpie Lady Duck deck
Skill: Harpies’ Hunting Ground
Cost to make: Medium-High
Birdface x2
Harpie Lady x2
Sonic Duck x 3
Mirror Wall x2
Wild Tornado x1
Who would have thought that one of the best cards to come out of the new set was a level 3 duck? Sonic Duck has pushed the Harpie lady deck into new highs by giving them the power boost the deck sorely needed. By making efficient trades and gaining advantage by destroying your opponents spells and traps, thanks to Harpies’ Hunting Ground, you can quickly out tempo your opponent and overwhelm them with your ducks and Harpie Lady Sisters.
However, as with the Gravekeeper deck, if the field spell Harpies’ Hunting Ground is removed then the deck loses this power. It still has the cards to hold its own but the game will be a lot more difficult to win. You can also get really bad hands due to dead cards like Elegant Egotist and Harpie Lady Sisters if you are unlucky.
This is certainly a cheaper deck to make when compared to Gravekeepers but requires less difficult to get cards to be ran as a lot of the cards, outside of the Harpie Lady line up, can be changed to less rare alternatives.
Bandit Keith Standard Relinquished deck
Skill: Switcheroo
Cost: High
Relinquished x2
Sonic Bird x 2
Senju of the Thousand Hands x2
Storm x2
Interdimensional Matter Transporter x2
Skull Lair x1
This deck has a lot going on and is super strong because of it. Thanks to Keith’s skill, which allows him to re-draw cards, you can manipulate your hand and thin your deck super-fast allowing you to easily summon Relinquished and win the game. Cards like Storm and Interdimensional Matter Transporter help you to use Relinquished’s effect over and over while netting you an advantage in the process. Skull Lair and the Kuriboh’s help out in the mirror match and have dual uses in normal matchups.
This deck, if it draws well (which is the point), can be an unstoppable force and is hard to counter effectively. It can be over powered if you are fast, but any powerful monsters will be stolen by Relinquished and used against you. Divine Wrath is a nasty counter if Storm is out of the way but, as before, few players are utilising that card right now.
Finally, this deck can be quite hard to put together, as almost all the cards are ultra-rare, but the results are worth it; this deck is at the top of the meta for a reason and extremely effective in PvP it if you can make it.
These are just a few of the decks floating about but they are without a doubt the best around right now. That being said, I managed to do really well with a Weevil deck in this current format so if you play well, and believe in the heart of the cards, anything could happen! Check out that deck and make sure to stick with VGU for future Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links decks and breakdowns.
