Codemasters have revealed how the GRID 2 multiplayer will immerse players and keep up the competitive edge. Powered by RaceNet, the online extension for Codemasters racing games, GRID 2’s multiplayer mode is going to offer an entirely distinct progression system, separate from the career mode, offering depth and flexibility in the world of online racing.
You will be able to have a look at the GRID 2 multiplayer on the Codemasters youtube channel where the live stream they previously held will be posted, available on demand. GRID 2 is set to have several multiplayer modes, from quick racing online to two-player splitscreen and beyond, and the wide range of game modes can be played online with up to 12 players, including custom races.
The game modes include: Race (including LiveRoutes), Endurance, Drift, Touge, Checkpoint, Face Off, and Time Attack. Global Challenge events include Overtake and Power Lap.
As well as this cars can be modified with upgrades so players can leave their mark. Using the simple yet powerful livery editor players can choose up to 6 billion different combinations, allowing each player to have their own unique vehicle.
RaceNet, Codemasters free online browser-based extension, tracks players races, rivals and rewards, and is set to launch fully with GRID 2. Set to be the heart of multiplayer, players can track community stats, leaderboards and participate in Global Challende events. What’s even better is that you can access this service through your desktop, tablet or mobile phone and it is set to have dedicated apps ready for release around the game’s launch.
GRID 2 is set to make its’ way on to shelves on May 31st 2013 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. You can currently pre-order the title.
