Lionhead developer well know for Fable and Black and White shut it doors for the last time yesterday. Last month Microsoft announced the cancellation of Fable Legends, along with the possible closure of the development studio which was originally founded by Peter Molyneux.
No potential buyers where found to save the studio from closure and as such yesterday on Friday 29th April 2016, was the final day for Lionhead and all of its employees.
Eurogamer were sent a statement from a Microsoft spokesperson about the closure.
We can confirm that after much consideration over the six week consultation period with Lionhead employees, we have reached the decision to close Lionhead Studios. We have nothing but heart-felt thanks for the team at Lionhead for their significant contributions to Xbox and the games industry.
The team were of course sad over the closure and sent their final messages on Twitter.
