Nintendo Reveal New Trailer and Images for Fantasy Life

Nintendo have today shared a new overview trailer for upcoming 3DS exclusive Fantasy Life, along with a few pieces of artwork which exhibit the game’s cute and playful style.

The new video shows us the huge amount of things you can see and do in Fantasy Life, in a little more detail than what was provided in the opening cinematic. One of its main focuses is the game’s customisation options, which range from creating your own character and changing jobs, to designing your own clothes, furniture and weapons. It also allows fans to see how seamlessly the 12 available jobs blend together, and shows how the three main acts of gathering, crafting and battling work in unison. You could be gathering minerals with the Miner one day, forging weapons with the Blacksmith the next, and then using your new sword as a Mercenary when you go and fight the bad guys.

The trailer also shows us that Fantasy Life isn’t quite the endless game as is true for similar titles like Animal Crossing – though of course, if you want it to be, you can make it so. There is an overarching story in the game in which you save the world, but whether you choose to go on that journey is up to you. This makes it quite reminiscent of the Rune Factory series, where you can spend all day farming, mining and wooing villagers until your heart’s content, and then maybe go battle some monsters at the end of the day.

Finally, we learn that the link option that was added later to the Japanese version of Fantasy Life will be available to the West at launch. This feature will allow you to play Fantasy Life online or locally with your friends, for an even greater adventure.

Fantasy Life will finally make its way to Europe on September 26th. For more information, check out the official Nintendo page.
