A workaround posted by Microsoft designed to fix some issues with people downloading the new Crimson Map Pack for Halo 4 has caused some players accounts to get banned!
Those who had the season pass or bought the Halo 4: Limited Edition were meant to get the map pack for free, but people have reported having issues downloading it to their consoles. People were being charged despite the fact that it was meant to be free. Microsoft’s workaround solution has now apparently caused players to be banned from certain aspects of the game’s multiplayer, with the Halo forums being filled with complaints.
A forum moderator offered the following comment in response:
“We are not permanently banning playesr for previewing or purchasing the Crimson Map Pack. Wr are currently investigating the recent reports of permanent matchmaking bans.
We will provide further updates tomorrow. Thank you for your patience”
Players are understandably upset and frustrated but both 343 Industries and Microsoft are working to fix the issue.
