Activision can be proud of the Skylanders franchise; Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure was awarded the Best Video Game category award at the British Academy Children’s Awards (BAFTA), earning them a place at the front of innovating gaming for children.
Peter Hepworth, UK Managing Director of Activision Blizzard, said “we are absolutely delighted to have won best video game at the British Academy Children’s Awards. This is a proud moment”. Could this be a good start and an even greater future for Skylanders?
If you’re not familiar with the game Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure sees the iconic and familiar character Spyro the Dragon take on a new story with a fully cooperative mode. To get new characters in game you buy special figurine packs which contains a chip, holding a whole host of data such as gold, level and upgrades. Because of this chip you can transfer them between consoles! As you can see it’s aimed at a younger gaming audience, so winning this award is a great step for them.
