Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V received the highest honours at the Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation Awards earning the Platinum Prize after shipping more than one million units through retail and digital downloads.
The Platinum Prize is awarded to titles that have sold one million units within a year, this year the window was Nov. 1, 2012 up until Oct.31, 2013. Those that ship 500,000 within the timeframe are awarded the Gold Award, given this year to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Metal Gear Rising: Revengance, Pro Evolution Soccer 2013, Yakuza 5, Dragons Crown, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 and Tales of Xillia 2.
Another main event is the User Choice Prize, given to consumer favourites and top sellers which were given out to Beyond: Two Souls, Killzone: Mercenary, The Last of Us, The Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki, Persona 4 Golden, Soul Sacrifice, Tomb Raider and Toukiden.
