Faulty pin work has lead to the retro video game console, Hyperkin’s RetroN 5 to be delayed until 2014. Lawrence Lee, Hyperkin’s Project Manager has commented on the matter:

“We apologize for the inconvenience. Hyperkin would like to thank you for all the support you have given us throughout the development of the RetroN 5. We are looking forward to its release, estimated to be within the first quarter of 2014, as soon as the issue has been resolved.”

The RetroN 5, a successor device to the RetroN 3 video game console uses and accepts NES, Famicom, SNES, Genesis, Mega Drive, Game Boy, Game Boy Color and GBA game cartridges. The games are then converted into HD and are able to connect to modern TV’s via HDMI. It also allows the use of the original controlers for all supported systems but the RetroN 5 also comes with its own personalized controllers. The device it only expected to be within the realms of £60 come launch next year.
