Renegade Game Studios has announced the launch of its Early Release Program with their latest board game The Search for Lost Species. This game is a follow-up to the award-winning and critically acclaimed The Search for Planet X.
Stores can back the game on Kickstarter starting on January 31st and can expect to receive their games in May 2023. The full release and retail distribution will be in August, coinciding with the public Gen Con launch.
The Search for Planet X was a massive hit and it took a full year and seven print runs to finally meet the demand. To avoid frustration from stores, Renegade Game Studios has launched the Early Release Program to give stores the opportunity to be a part of the launch in a special and very early way,” said Scott Gaeta, President at Renegade Games.
The gameplay of The Search for Lost Species has six different Lost Species to search for, each with its own unique set of rules and challenges. The game introduces two different island maps, adding a spatial aspect to the deduction. The Town Cards provide powers and abilities that aid in the search, and the three different terrain types offer an additional layer of logic and relationships.
The game was designed by the same team behind The Search for Planet X, Ben Rosset & Matthew O’Malley. It has also been made using eco-friendly materials, with no plastic in the components or packaging. The game is produced by a factory that uses solar power and grey-water recycling in its manufacturing process, and is made from sustainable premium cardstock using sugarcane instead of traditional lumber that takes a lot longer to renew compared to sugarcane.
Renegade Game Studios has partnered with Re:wild, a real-life organisation actively searching for Lost Species in our real world. The Search for Lost Species App is already available for download on the iOS and Android stores.
Fans and game stores can now find The Search for Lost Species on Kickstarter and be a part of the Early Release Program.
