Surviving The Aftermath: Expeditions Update Revealed

Welcome back survivors. The post apocalyptic wasteland is about to get a bit more interesting. Paradox Interactive have revealed the teaser trailer for the new update to their kickstarter title Surviving The Aftermath: Expeditions. Join us as we see what is on the horizon for your colonists in.

Recover Vehicles

The first tease of what’s to come is the use of vehicles. In the trailer it tipped the recovery of these hunks of metal on wheels and their usage in exploration. This will make expeditions in the world map a lot easier and less of a slow grind. Allowing your specialists to hop into a car and “expedite” the process of finding new areas and resources will be a wonderful addition. This will come with a cost, as do all things in a post-apocalyptic world. Fuel, metal, and components are the obvious resources you will need to keep things running smoothly.

Improved Trading

Next up is improvements to the trading mechanics and features of the game. By encountering new societies and developing relationships with them, trading for those crucial resources can make the difference in survival. This system will allow for exchanges to happen between your colony and said societies over a matter of days with the usage of trade routes. These actions also build up reputation which seems to act as its own currency.

New Buildings

Lastly, the introduction of some new buildings for your colonist to build. These take the form of the refinery and the garage. The former seems heavily pointed towards the extraction of oil and/or fuel for the vehicles you recover in the world. The garage will be the repair workshop and home for said vehicles. It will exciting to see if you can upgrade and transform these rides past their base, banged up form in the future. But only time will tell. Who knows, a Mad Max style supercharged beast might emerge from the workshop!

And that is your lot for now wasteland survivors! Surviving The Aftermath: Expeditions will drop in the near future with more details coming this week.
