New Sonic Forces Custom Hero Stage And Drill Wispon Revealed

Sonic Forces

The announcement of a customisable hero in Sonic Forces has been met with mixed reception, but the inclusion of making your own protagonist is a step that SEGA have been brave enough to take. Earlier today, SEGA announced an all new stage for the Custom Hero that will be playable when the game is launched next month for all current generation consoles.

The new stage takes the Custom Hero into the depths of a Chemical Plant. It is unclear whether this is the same area that was made famous back in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, or whether it is a placeholder to keep the identity of the stage a surprise before Sonic Forces becomes available. As well as a new stage, SEGA have revealed that you will be able to equip a new ability to help the resistance defeat Dr. Eggman’s forces. The new Drill Wispon is one of the optional abilities that can be equipped by the Custom Hero. It is an enhanced version of the Drill Wisp that was introduced in Sonic Colours, and can be used to tunnel through softer ground and climb up to higher areas. The new ability can also be used to attack enemies by using a powered up Drill Punch if the player chooses to charge their attacks.

Sonic Forces will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on November 7th 2017. If you are interested in seeing more about the game, be sure to visit the official game page on the SEGA website and watch the latest trailer that has been posted below.
