Dell Team With Sony for Spiderman: Homecoming VR and More

Dell has teamed up with  Sony Pictures to partner on their latest spidey movie, Spiderman: Homecoming.

The combination which has happened both in front of the camera and behind it integrates Dell products into the movie while also running a full-scale marketing campaign. One of the most notable products coming to the big screen is Dell’s new Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop.

The broad popularity of the Spider-Man franchise and its relevance with gamers presented a real opportunity to launch Dell’s Inspiron Gaming line as part of the campaign and bring Dell’s expertise in high-performance gaming to more people, Spider-Man fans care about authenticity to the brand, character and storytelling, so partnering with Jon Watts on the TV spot allowed Dell to uphold a seamless look and tone, stay true to the film and deliver to the Marvel community.

Over 1000 Dell Precision workstations, more than 4,000 Dell servers, and over a petabyte of Dell/EMC storage were used in the making of Spiderman: Homecoming’s visual effects and Dell also collaborated with Sony Pictures Virtual Reality to create a promotional VR experience based on the upcoming film.

Spider-Man: Homecoming VR offers players the chance to put on their Spidey-suit and swing across the New York skyline while chasing after the Vulture.

If you are about in New York during the launch of Spiderman: Homecoming then you can join Dell and Sony Pictures in an interactive experience using your mobile phone. By using your phone in Time Square you can race to the top of a New York City Skyscraper on some of the largest digital billboards in NYC.

The video game will be live on Broadway between 46th and 46th Street from June 30th until July 1st and July 7th until July 8th in Time Square.
