Indie Horror Game “Remothered: Tormented Fathers” Officially Green-Lit by Steam

If the likes Resident Evil 7 and Outlast 2 have wetted your appetites for survival horror, then you’ll certainly have something new to look forward to this year. The wonderfully named Remothered: Tormented Fathers has been officially green-lit by Steam and will also be making its way to the PlayStation 4.

For those unfamiliar with Remothered, here’s a little taste of the story:

Rosemary Reed, a fascinating 35 year old woman, reaches the house of a retired notary, Dr. Felton, who is affected by a mysterious disease. The woman is greeted by Ms. Gloria, the nurse who takes care of the old man. When Rosemary reveals herself and her true intentions, the terrifying dread begins. Rosemary’s investigations will bring her to believe that the disappearance of the man’s daughter Celeste actually hides a terrible massacre. Dr. Felton and his wife, Arianna, could be the only ones to know the truth, including the secret behind Celeste’s real identity and a fanatic cult of cloistered nuns in red.

Originally starting out its life as a fan-remake of the cult classic Clock Tower, Remothered has since gone under many different changes. Over the years the game has sought to move away from being a mere remake, but has certainly kept the ethos of Clock Tower alive. Keeping it’s brand of “stalk and slash” horror very much alive, amongst the current trend of grotesque, run-and-hide games on the market. Remothered will see players taking on the role of Rosemary as she solves puzzles, unravels the mystery and most importantly of all, evades capture and death at the hands of her pursuers.

Remothered: Tormented Fathers is to be released at some point in 2017 for both PC and PlayStation 4. You can keep up with all the latest news here at VGU, or head on over to their official website or Facebook page for find out more.
