After it’s successful relaunch a few years ago, Final Fantasy XIV is an example of a MMO that has gone from strength to strength. This was swiftly followed by the first major expansion to the game, Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward, which provided all new areas and increased the default level cap. Initially revealed late last year, the next expansion to the Final Fantasy XIV metaverse has now been given an official release date for all major platforms, along with information regarding the limited collectors edition.
For anyone who wants to buy the premium pack, it will include a box with an exclusive illustration by Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano, as well as a figurine of Zenos yae Galvus. To round off the collector’s content, purchasers will also get an art book, a map of Eorzea on a specially made cloth, a sticker with the game’s logo attached and several exclusive codes to redeem a new mount, a minion and a Chicken Knife weapon. Pre orders for the expansion pack will be available from January 24th 2017, in anticipation for the game’s launch at the beginning of Summer 2017.
Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood will be released on June 20th 2017 for PC, PS4 and PS3, and will require the original Final Fantasy XIV to play. The base game, and it’s first major expansion Heavensward are now available on PC, PS4 and PS3 on physical store shelves or as a digital download via the PlayStation Network, Steam or the Square Enix website.
