If you’re squeamish, we’d advise looking away now.
Ahead of its release in a months time, the developers over at Gun Media have released a brutal new trailer for Friday the 13th: The Game. Showing players the variety of nasty ways they can dispatch their opponents. Due warning though, the trailer doesn’t shy away from the gore. Featuring acts like throwing someone head-first into a fireplace and removing a man’s limbs one at a time with a machete, this is one game that means business. Also noticeable is the various different iterations of Jason seen in the trailer. Little bits of fan service like this go a long way for a fans of the movies, myself included.
Financed by a successful crowd-funding venture, Friday the 13th: The Game, eight players get together online and play through a long night at camp blood. Seven take on the role of counsellors/horny-teens and the eighth player gets to be murder-enthusiast Jason Voorhees. Who, by looking at the trailer, seems to be the most fun character to play as.
The aim of the game is to run and hide, avoiding Jason at all costs and doing your best to survive. If you’re fortunate enough to be playing Jason however, it’s your goal to wipe out all over players as quickly and brutally as possible.
Friday the 13th: The Game is to be released in October for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. No set date has been announced as of yet.
