The Division is Officially Ubisoft’s Fastest Selling Game

Since it’s launch day on March 8th, Tom Clancy’s The Division from Ubisoft has quickly become the companies fastest selling title to date. It was also revealed that the game has also set new digital sales record for the company across all platforms.

There are no numbers thus far as to how many copies of the game have been sold on each console, but when the numbers are revealed we will be sure to update this post with any information. David Polfeldt, Ubisoft Managing Director, said that the studio is “extremely happy” with the launch of The Division. He mentioned how the game “represents Uboisoft at it’s best” with the game being a “Highly-productive collaboration” between the studio and Massive.

As of this point in time, Ubisoft according to many char trackers has produced three of the four most successful game launches of all time. Including the likes of The Division, Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed. The odd one out of course being held by Destiny from Bungie and Activision.

The CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, had to say this about the games launch:

“This is a momentous day for Ubisoft, but more importantly it marks the start of millions of players’ enduring engagement in The Division’s game world, which we are confident they will love”.

It is great to see Ubisoft and The Division do so well and we are currently enjoying the game as our review is under way. What are your thoughts on the game and it’s success so far? Let us know in the comments.
