Rise Above Extinction in Far Cry Primal, Now Available

Far Cry Primal, the latest instalment in the hugely successful Far Cry franchise from Ubisoft, is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the PC release coming next week on March 1.

Set in the mythical land of Oros, you play as Takkar, a hunter-gatherer at the beginning of the stone age in the Mesolithic Era. At the bottom of the food chain, you must fight your way up as everything tries to kill you; mammoths, sabretooth tigers, tribes-people, you name it and it’ll want to eat the juicy meat off your tender bones.

As you explore the vast sandbox world, your goal is to find other members of your scattered Wenja tribe while outmanoeuvring and outwitting other tribes – each with their own language, culture and history as detailed in this documentary produced by Ubisoft ahead of the release.

Like in previous Far Cry games, you’ll have a vast range of crafting options available to you with materials and resources found across the land. You’ll need to create a deadly arsenal consisting of unique weapons such as the double-bow and bee-hive bombs. Fire is also a useful tool at your disposal, allowing you to turn bears into flaming balls of destruction. Your trusty owl companion is also of enormous help, allowing stealthy owl executions.
