Hironobu Sakaguchi’s studio Mistwalker is collaborating with Silicon Studio, the developer of Bravely Default, in a new project as announced on the official website today. The title, content and release times haven’t yet been revealed.
The collaboration will bring together the “outstanding imagination” of MistWalker and “technology and long-term management capability” of Silicon Studio to “provide the best experience for gamers around the world.”
All that was given with the press release was a piece of concept artwork by Kimihiko Fujisaka, which was originally published in 2009. Fujisaka had previously said it wasn’t related to any titles currently in development.
“My illustrations and designs keep piling up without seeing the light of day. It happens a lot, but I think of it like medals of honor from battle,” Fujisaka said in 2009. “The project I had been working on never made it through to completion, and the one thing that I really realized was that I was very disappointed in my lack of skill.”
The piece also appears on the official Terra Battle website so could be related to a console version that MistWalker had promised as part of their “Download Starter” promotion.
We will keep you updated of any further announcements.
