Every major console manufacturer has their own budget range to offer their best selling titles at a reduced price after a certain period of time. Sony have the Platinum label, Microsoft has the Classics and Nintendo have their Selects. Fans of the Mario development team will be pleased to learn that the Nintendo Selects range is about to receive four new titles, and all of them have been previously released on the Wii U, a console which has never been inducted into the collection before.
First to take the leap of discount is Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, the latest entry in the monkey filled platforming series. Next on the list is Super Mario 3D World, a four player co-operative adventure filled with cat costumes, coins and gravity defying pipes. If you are in the mood for some retro experiences with a difference, NES Remix Pack combines the two previous titles in the NES Remix series and adds some new features to the mix. The final game to make the Nintendo Selects range this time around is Pikmin 3, the third entry in the treasure hunting puzzle game where you grow the means for your survival.
All four of the games will be reduced to a new recommended retail price of $29.99 on March 11th 2016. It is not currently known if Europe will also receive these games into their Nintendo Selects catalogue, but if previous additions are any indication, we can expect to see at least one of them receive a significant drop in price.
