In the last few years, live-streaming video games has taken the world by storm thanks to services such as Twitch and YouTube. One of the companies that provides vital support to these activities is SplitmediaLabs, whose XSplit Gamecaster software allows anyone with a high speed internet connection to show off their game play skills to the world. If you have been waiting for a new version of their software to arrive, then your new year’s dreams have become reality, as XSplit Gamecaster 2.7 has now been released.
As well as the usual bug fixes and optimizations you would expect from a major update, several new features have made their way to XSplit, such as the ability to use Tobii Eye Tracking technology, so you know precisely where your audience looks on screen whilst watching your videos. Intel RealSense camera support has also been enabled, so you can remove the background from your camera videos without the need for a physical green screen.
If you want to take a screenshot of your livestream in progress, you can now perform this task directly without using a separate piece of software. In addition, if you are widely connected to social media for your livestreaming, it is now possible to use your Facebook and Twitter account details to log into your account, once you have connected the appropriate service to your Gamecaster account.
To update to the latest version of Gamescaster, you may do so by visiting the official website, or clicking the update option from within the program. Will you be using these new features in your live streaming sessions? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
