A Skyranger Full Of XCOM 2 News Has Landed

This information must have all been declassified by the XCOM project as a ton of new information has just dropped about XCOM 2, the sequel to Firaxis’ incredibly successful reboot of XCOM back in 2012. We have received a new trailer for the game, showing off lots of combat footage, as well as some glimpses of some new alien enemies and a gnarly looking portable flame thrower that can be used by XCOM operatives.

We have also got news of the Digital Deluxe Edition of XCOM 2, which will include the base game, the game’s soundtrack and the special Reinforcement Pack, all for $74.99 (so roughly £69.99 I imagine). The Reinforcement Pack includes a cosmetic armour pack called Anarchy’s Children, which gives you more armour skins that have more rebellion themed designs. You also get a pack called Alien Hunters which centres around an elite XCOM alien hunting unit which tracks down ‘Ruler’ aliens and includes one new mission, more cosmetic armour options as well as additional weapons. Finally, you also get Shen’s Last Gift, which grants you access to a 6th XCOM soldier class along with yet more armour and weapon customisation options. A new map and mission is included too.

Anarchy’s Children will be available in Spring while Alien Hunters and Shen’s Last Gift will arrive in Summer. All pre-orders versions of XCOM 2 and the Digitial Deluxe Edition will also receive the Resistance Warrior Pack which adds a new XCOM recruit to the Avenger who survived the first Alien Invasion as well as, you guessed it, more cosmetic armour options along with war paints and headgear.

You can read this megathread over on r/games which has various bits of information about XCOM 2 all in one place, including a 60 minute walkthrough with director’s commentary, courtesy of Eurogamer. XCOM 2 releases worldwide on PC on February 5, 2016.
