Whilst it hasn’t been a long since we last took it upon ourselves to rescue Gotham in Arkham Knight, the caped crusader is showing no signs of leaving the video game world with the announcement on a new series. By none other than episodic juggernauts TellTale games.
Aside from confirming that a game is in the works, nothing has been said on which characters and villains will appear or what the basic premise of the story is. Kevin Bruner, the Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games had this to say:
“At Telltale, we’ve been honoured to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year. This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”
The idea does sound a little strange, seeing as TellTale’s typical approach is a lot less action heavy than other games that Batman has starred in, but they’ve often surprised fans and critics alike with their unique innovations. Frankly, I think I speak for all of us when I say that this is one series that has some truly great potential.
