In a leaked trailer which was supposed to be shown off during tonight’s Game Awards in Los Angeles, the 4 new fighters of Kombat Pack 2 have been revealed to the public. The characters are Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, Bo Rai Cho the drunken master, a cyborg fusion of Sektor and Cyrax along with Baraka, augmented with Xenomorph DNA. That’s right, a form of the Alien and Predator will be able to fight it out in Mortal Kombat X, thanks to Kombat Pack 2.
Ed Boon and co seem to be continuing this theme of putting classic horror characters into Mortal Kombat X in this new DLC pack but it seems that many fans are disappointed by the returning kombatants that have been offered up. Besides the cyborg ninjas, fans were really expecting either Fuijin, Rain or some of the revenant characters as returning fighters, seeing as they featured fairly prominently in the campaign of MKX.
I’m pretty pleased with the additions, especially Xenomorph Baraka which is a unexpected blend of two characters that fans wanted to see in Mortal Kombat X in the future. Hopefully, we may get a Alien vs Predator Grand Finals at a Mortal Kombat X tournament in the future. Stay tuned to the Game Awards tonight to find out more about Kombat Pack 2, but expect a release date sometime in early 2016.
