Who doesn’t love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? I mean seriously, they’re awesome. Clearly Platinum Games think the same as they have just announced that they’re developing a brand new game based on the iconic heroes.
The announcement was made official when a rating was submitted to the Australian Classification Board for a game entitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, but there is no mention as to what consoles it will be on. However the title is very promising indeed.
Little is currently known at the moment, but one can only imagine this will the kind of button-mashing beat em’ up that Platinum are famously known for. Platinum’s most recent game was the insanely fun Transformers Devastation which let us all live out our childhood fantasies of smashing around as the original cartoon robots. It seems likely that Mutants in Manhattan will follow the same formula, allowing you to play as each turtle and battle your way through hordes of the foot-clan.
As great as it is to see Platinum Games snapping up as many beloved eighties franchises as possible, let’s just hope that they get on to making Bayonetta 3 some time soon.
