Backwards compatibility for the Xbox One was revealed to extremely positive reception at E3 earlier this year. The feature has been in beta testing for the last several months thanks to the Xbox Preview program, but now it will be released alongside a dashboard update on November 12th 2015. As to what games will be compatible on the day of launch, a tweet from Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed that the full list of games will be announced on November 9th, just three days before the update’s release.
