On the anniversary of the day Marty McFly travelled to the far flung time of 2015, the Delorean is coming to Rocket League as a playable battle car. According to Jeremy Dunham from Psyonix, getting the Delorean in Rocket League was ‘ one of the few “Holy Grails” we had hoped for besides having [Rocket League be] a hit game,’ so having the fabled 80s time machine as a playable car in game is a big milestone for the team.
Psyonix has put in a lot of work to get the feel of the Delorean just right, down to the folding jet wheels, boosters on the back and even adding the burning tire tracks as an equippable Rocket Trail. If you want to download this time travelling automobile, it will be available on the 21st of October, so you can download it on the exact same time Marty warped forward in time to 2015. It should be a perfect thing to play with after you’ve seen Jaws 19 and had a full day pulling off sick tricks on your hoverboard. The Delorean and Rocket Trail will retail for $1.99 or your regional equivalent and you can also download the Revenge of the Battle Cars DLC for $3.99 tomorrow.
You can see the Delorean tear up the field in the trailer below.
